Assault After RHCP Show

Five people were assaulted by a roving band of teenagers while leaving a Red Hot Chili Peppers show at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., May 5.

Three teenagers and two adults were assaulted and robbed by a band of 10 or 15 “thugs,” according to a police spokesman, and the group also allegedly assaulted two teens at a different location.

One man suffered a fractured eye socket and needed 12 stitches and another was left unconscious, according to the Star-Ledger. It is only the second major reported crime at the arena since it opened in 2007, officials said.
