The Highest Five?

SS501 member Kim Hyun-joong launched his long-awaited Asia Fan Meeting Tour in Singapore May 4 and, as promised, high-fived every single person who showed up. That’s 3,000 high-fives and handshakes, according to the organizer of the event, Running Into the Sun.

Originally, RITS planned for Kim to high-five a selected 500 fans, but the singer himself insisted on meeting everyone.

“I know it’s not going to be easy,” he said beforehand, “and I hope that even if it is a really short moment of high-five, the fans would know how much I appreciate their effort and support.”

The meetings took place at the exit to the venue following the concert, and security was not a problem at all. It took a full hour to high-five everyone there.

Before the session, Kim performed 15 songs including two encores, and played games with audience members onstage. After Singapore the tour went on to Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and Thailand.
Kim also high-fived everyone in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

In other news, Kim’s agency KeyEast Entertainment announced he had finished recording his next album, which will include a collaboration with B’z, Japan’s biggest rock duo.

B’z has the record in Japan for most number one singles and albums. It is the first time B’z two members have produced a song for an artist other than themselves.
