Although 2012 marks the 50th anniversary of the original bad boys of rock, a tour has yet to materialize. Keith Richards seemed to squash any hopes of The Stones going out on the road this year, saying the band wasn’t ready and that a 2013 tour seemed “more realistic.”

Now the band’s other guitarist, Ron Wood, is getting fans’ hopes up.

While attending the Sony Radio Awards in London Monday night, Wood said The Stones might do some shows in the fall, according to London’s Sun newspaper.

“I am keeping October/November free, that’s what I’ve been told,” Wood said. “I’m just awaiting more information.”

Evidently, if The Rolling Stones do tour, don’t expect any new music even though the band recently racked up some studio time.

“New ones? Are you joking?” Wood said. “We are familiarizing ourselves with our back catalogue and have only scratched the surface.”
