Winning And Losing

The “Billboard Music Awards” telecast on ABC May 20 may have won its timeslot, but it lost 10 percent of its viewership from last year and tied its lowest-ever numbers from 2006, according to Nielsen overnight numbers and reported by several trade publications.

The show, highlighted by Whitney Houston and Stevie Wonder tributes, pulled in an overall 2.7 rating/7 share with 7.4 million in the coveted 18-49 demographic.

The biggest loser on the night was The Donald’s “Celebrity Apprentice,” while “The Simpsons” season finale was up 11 percent with Lady Gaga guest-voicing.
