Biggest Music Matters

One of the Asia Pacific region’s largest music industry events, Music Matters, had its biggest year yet in its seven-year history of hosting key players in the global music business.

It took place for the second straight year in Singapore the week of May 22.

Topics discussed included the role of brand sponsors, the rise of Asian music festivals, developments in music publishing, the launch of digital services, and a variety of regionally focused presentations.

Among the keynote speakers this year were Lady Gaga manager Troy Carter and Bob Ezrin, who over a 40-year career has produced records by the likes of Pink Floyd, Lou Reed and Nine Inch Nails. Also speaking was AEG Live president of concerts John Meglen, and Bob Lefsetz, “the world’s most read music blogger.”

Attached to the conference was a two-day music festival that features more than 40 acts, eight of which were from South Korea.
