Ed Sheeran’s First Time

Ed Sheeran’s first-ever headlining tour of the U.S.A. comes to you VH1-approved. Details after the jump.

This time around there won’t be any discussion about who Ed Sheehan is supporting or how the Englishman has been invited as “special guest” on someone else’s tour. This time around Sheehan’s name will be on top. That is, along with VH1.

Beginning in mid-September, Sheehan will headlining VH1’s “You Oughta Know Tour,” the music cable channel’s branded outing focusing on up-and-coming artists. Past “You Oughta Know Tour” headliners include Bruno Mars, Adele, Amy Winehouse, The Civil Wars and The Fray.

For Sheeran, the tour coincides with this North America outing, with U.S. dates falling under the VH1 banner while the troubadour’s Canadian dates come to us minus the music channel’s participation.

Sheeran will be supporting his album + (Plus). Released last September in the United Kingdom and other parts of the globe, the album has been available in the U.S. only as an import. However, that changes June 12 when + is officially released in the States.
