Kanye Prefers Spotlight To Laserlight

Although he appears to enjoy the limelight, Kanye West isn’t so fond of laserlight.

He interrupted his concert at Paris Bercy June 2, one of two sold-out shows he did with his “Watch The Throne” collaborator Jay-Z, to have a go at a fan who was shining a laser pointer at him during the show.

In what may have been an effort to address the French audience in its native language, Kanye said: “You see this guy right here with the green laser? Don’t fuck up everybody’s show. It’s not a fucking game.

“You’re gonna get fucked up and kicked out, and all that shit. Chill the fuck out,” he added when the laser-aimer continued to beam in on him.

West is well-known for having the occasional outburst. In 2009 he interrupted the MTV Video Music Awards when he stormed onstage as country singer Taylor Swift accepted the award for best female video. West thought Beyoncé deserved the award.

In November he canceled his performance on the “Today” show in New York after presenter Matt Lauer upset him during the interview leading up to his slot.

A couple of months earlier he’d appeared at the UK’s Big Chill Festival, where he likened himself to Hitler.

“I walk through the hotel and I walk down the street, and people look at me like I’m… insane, like I’m Hitler,” he said. “One day the light will shine through and one day people will understand everything I ever did.”
