A man of many talents, Laurie achieved U.S. stardom when he was cast to portray the egocentric drug-addled physician on Fox Television’s “House.” But longtime Laurie fans knew him from his comedy roles in the U.K., specifically his turn as a target for Rowan Atkinson’s barbs in the latter’s multiple “Black Adder” series.

But acting is only one of Laurie’s skills. His debut Let Them Talk album featuring classics by legendary blues artists such as Lead Belly, Robert Johnson and Memphis Slim achieved gold certification in the U.K. A Let Them Talk special edition was recently released via Amazon and contains four previously unreleased tracks plus a video of Laurie’s appearance on PBS “Great Performances” special, “Let Them Talk – A Celebration of New Orleans Blues.”

Laurie’s upcoming tour begins in Iowa City, Iowa, at the Englert Civic Theatre Aug. 17. Other stops include Chicago at Park West Aug. 21; Boston at the Wilbur Theatre Sept. 5; New York City at the Grand Ballroom Sept. 10 and Morristown, N.J., at the Mayo Performing Arts Center Sept. 12.

Laurie will be joined on this tour by The Copper Bottom Band featuring drummer Jay Bellerose, guitarist Kevin Breit, Vincent Henry on horns, Jean McClain on backing vocals, bassist David Piltch and Patrick Warren on keyboards and accordion. For more information, please visit HughLaurieBlues.com.
