TM Lauds Louis C.K.

Louis C.K.’s recent ticket experiment scored the comedian $4.5 million in less than two days and – surprisingly – a fan in Ticketmaster.

TM CEO Nathan Hubbard showed his support for C.K.’s DIY approach on Twitter the day tickets went on sale, explaining, “we love what @LouisCK is doing and support it – wish more people had the stones to do all-in ticketing.”

“We have been a huge champion of protecting what he is trying to do – delivering a great seat at a fair price to an actual fan,” he wrote.

Hubbard also didn’t pass up the opportunity to champion TM’s agenda, however, noting, “it sucks that StubHub is trying to pass laws making what @LouisCK is doing illegal. Hope fans support him. Go get ’em, Louis.”

Advocacy groups backed by Ticketmaster and StubHub, respectively, have been embroiled in a state-by-state legal battle over paperless ticketing legislation for the past year.
