Spin Media, the parent of Spin magazine, has been sold to music and celebrity website company Buzzmedia in a deal that could spell the end of the print publication in favor of its online potential reach.

Buzzmedia owns or sells advertising for blogs including Stereogum, Hype Machine and Idolator, and runs Kim Kardashian’s website and those of other celebrities.

Buzzmedia acquires Spin’s 27-year-old print magazine and website, iPad app and live event business. Financial terms were not disclosed. Spin’s last sale, to publisher McEvoy Group in 2006, reportedly fetched less than $5 million, according to the New York Times.
