Reunion Rumblings: Fleetwood Mac & Skid Row

The Rolling Stones isn’t the only band week talking about getting back together for a tour. Earlier this week Stevie Nicks revealed that Fleetwood Mac will soon reunite and Sebastian Bach discussed the possibility of taking the stage with Skid Row.

On Wednesday Nicks appeared on “CBS This Morning” for an interview covering everything from the recent suicide of former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Bob Welch to the process of picking out tunes for her latest album.

Nicks confirmed that fans can expect a Fleetwood Mac reunion in 2013.

“Next year,” the singer/songwriter said, adding “so far.” She confirmed that the whole band was on board for 2013.

“That’s the plan. Because that’s what we do. I do my thing. And Lindsey [Buckingham] is out doing his thing right now.”

Nicks has a few more solo gigs to take care of this weekend, with shows in Virginia Beach, Va., and Atlantic City. She kicks off her co-headline tour with Rod Stewart July 20 in Cleveland.

Buckingham returns to the road for his solo tour later this month with U.S. and Canadian dates booked through early September.

And with regards to the Skid Row reunion tour, Sebastian Bach says that although it isn’t something he personally needs, he would do it for the fans. Bach left the group in 1996 and has since been replaced by vocalist Johnny Solinger.

The website BraveWords.com posted an open letter from Bach Wednesday that he briefly posted on his official Facebook page (via Rolling Stone). It seems safe to say the statement was his because Bach retweeted a tweet Rolling Stone sent out about Bach’s letter and the reunion.

“I am completely happy playing the main stage at festivals such as M3 while my old band plays second stage,” Bach wrote. “I am completely happy with my band members in my solo band. But for the fans, I do understand their frustration at the fact that all five members of Skid Row are still alive, but because of ego, and journalists such as Jonathan Parks, we cannot get in the same room together. It’s not fair to the fans. I do not want anything more in this life than to make great music and play great shows. I do not need my old band to do that. But, for the fans, I would be willing to put my ego aside and do something that would be special for the people who put us where we are today. I do not personally want it myself. But it’s not always about ‘what I want.’ If the fans really want to see us together, I would do it for the fans. Sometimes you can do things for people other than yourself.

“So to my old band members, if you want to try and get out of the Internet bullshit and come together for the sake of the fans, you can give me a call.”

Bach’s next show is July 20 in Lampe, Mo. He has gigs booked through late August, followed by the Rock n’ Roll Fantasy Camp in Las Vegas in October.

On Saturday Skid Row plays Rock’n The Valley in Pecatonica, Ill. The band has shows scheduled through early September, along with a gig supporting Warrant in November.
