Promoter Pinched

Federal authorities seized more than $135,000 linked to a man who promoted a Detroit concert by composer A.R. Rahman that was canceled when the concert stage collapsed at Pontiac Silverdome in 2010.

Records show Deepak Kumar is under investigation for possible health care fraud and prescription-drug crimes.

Kumar ran a company, Palace Home Health Care, which provided nursing and physical therapy. He hasn’t been charged with any crime but is suspected of billing for phony patients.

The Drug Enforcement Administration says an investigation is ongoing.
