Trans-Siberian Orchestra Rolls Out Dates

The sight-and-sound explosion begins its 2012 holiday adventure in mid-November.

Created by Paul O’Neill and fielding multiple touring companies, this year’s Trans-Siberian Orchestra winter outing brings you the first-ever performance of its 2004 rock-opera epic, The Lost Christmas Eve. Described as a “heartwarming story of loss and redemption,” the final chapter in TSO’s “Christmas Trilogy” takes place in New York City locales such as a blues bar, a run-down hotel, an old toy store and a gothic cathedral.

As with past Trans-Siberian Orchestra adventures, the tour’s rich special effects are as much a part of each performance as are the musicians and singers. TSO is promising “more lights, lasers and pyrotechnics” as well as “a few new surprises.”

Of course, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra never does anything small. Running mid-November through the end of December, TSO’s multiple-company structure translates into playing different cities on the same day, effectively doubling the performance capacity. The tour opens in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Peoria, Ill., Nov. 15 and includes stops in Cincinnati, Salt Lake City, Seattle, San Diego, Phoenix and pretty much everywhere folks love Christmas and have a venue (and power plant) capable of hosting the concert.
