When Campbell, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, canceled the shows scheduled for August (Rogers is still doing the gigs), a representative said the music legend was not up for “the very long flight that it would require.”

Evidently some folks didn’t get the memo. Today, Campbell’s press rep issued the following statement:

“Glen Campbell recently cancelled his scheduled August tour to New Zealand and Australia. After 40 years of sold- out shows in those countries, he regrets he cannot perform there one more time. Having just concluded nine months of successful shows, the last in Albuquerque on July 29, Glen, along with his doctors decided that the extremely long plane trip would be unmanageable due to his Alzheimer’s condition.

“Though taking the month of August off, Glen has several concerts booked throughout the United States in September, October and November and he is looking forward to continuing his well-received Goodbye Tour.”
