Elton Disses Madonna

Elton John later said his remarks about Madonna were supposed to be off the record, but what was said has made the rounds.

John and his former friend have had a spat of late, and in a recent video interview with Australian TV, he said Maddy’s latest tour, although selling well, is a “disaster and it couldn’t happen to a bigger c***.”

“Why is she such a nightmare?” he asked. “Sorry, her career is over,” adding, “If Madonna had any common sense, she would have made a record like Ray of Light and stayed away from the dance stuff and just been a great pop singer and make great pop records, which she does brilliantly. But no, she had to go and prove … she looks like a … fairground stripper. She’s been horrible to Gaga.”

Lady Gaga is Godmother to John’s son.

John is apparently still upset that Madonna said Gaga’s “Born This Way” sounds like “Express Yourself.”

An overlay of the two songs on YouTube shows an uncanny similarity. However, the Material Girl has faced about 10 copyright infringement lawsuits. The song “Justify My Love” alone was found to use music from Public Enemy and lyrics from Prince protégé Ingrid Chavez. Both parties sued Madonna and won.

PE got an undisclosed sum, and Chavez got a writing credit.
