Another Spice Girls Reunion?

The Spice Girls’ appearance at the London Olympics’ Closing Ceremony was the most talked about performance of the night on Twitter, generating more than 116,000 tweets per minute. And now the British media is still talking thanks to a quote from Sporty Spice Mel C.

During Sunday night’s event, The Spice Girls showed they’ve still got it while dancing and singing on top of Black London cabs. The crowd was treated to two of the Girls’ biggest hits – “Wannabe” and “Spice Up Your Life.”

What are the chances that Sporty, Ginger, Scary, Posh and Baby could reunite on stage again, perhaps for a follow-up to the group’s 2007/2008 world tour?

Here’s what Mel C had to say about the idea to Digital Spy.

“I never ever thought we’d get back together, but we did in 2007/2008. I’m really glad we did because it was brilliant and I really enjoyed it,” she told the British entertainment and media news website. “There’s absolutely nothing to say we wouldn’t do it again at some point in the future.”

The Mirror didn’t seem to think a tour was too likely, writing “Um, Mel, we have one word that could be ‘a something’ – Posh.”

Metro also brought up Posh Spice (aka Victoria Beckham), noting that reports had suggested the singer almost didn’t agree to take part in the Closing Ceremony. RadarOnline claimed, according to one of its sources, that Posh initially said that her schedule was too packed “because of commitments with her fashion line and her duties of being a mother.”

Well, Posh obviously made it to the show. Maybe she could also fit a few tour dates into her schedule.

Perez Hilton suggested an alternative to another trek around the globe. After the Closing Ceremony he tweeted, “Instead of a #SpiceGirls tour, which I think is unlikely, I think they should have a residency in Vegas!! An arena! One week every 6 months.”
