Changes: Prong, Scream Tour And Flo Rida

Get out your scorecards, it’s time to make some adjustments in the space-time concertinuum as Prong nixes some shows but keeps others, and Flo Rida and the Scream Tour both cancel upcoming Florida gigs.

The message from Prong is that the old scheduling devil known as “due to circumstances beyond our control” has forced the band to pull out of a few shows.

The first thing you need to know is that Prong’s scheduled appearances at Knotfests in Pacific Junction, Iowa, Aug. 17 and Somerset, Wis., Aug. 18 are still intact. Prong will also play its headline show in Portland, Ore., at the Hawthorne Theater Aug. 31 as well as appear at Seattle’s Bumbershoot Festival Sept. 1 and headline gigs in Richland, Wash. (Sept. 2); Modesto, Calif. (Sept. 3) and Lancaster, Calif. (Sept. 4).

Unfortunately, the list of Prong cancelations is a bit longer. Prong will not appear with Static-X Aug. 14 (Philadelphia), Aug. 15 (Pittsburgh), Aug. 20 (New York City), Aug. 23 (Chicago), Aug. 24 (Fort Wayne, Ind.), Aug. 27 (Englewood, Colo.), Aug. 28 (Idaho Falls, Idaho), Aug. 29 (Las Vegas) and Sept. 6 (San Jose, Calif.).
But wait, there’s more.

Prong has also canceled headlining shows in Flint, Mich. (Aug. 16) and Milwaukee (Aug. 22). The band has also pulled out of its Slang Metalfest appearance scheduled for Aug. 25.

Concert fans down Florida way have suddenly found themselves with a little extra time on their hands.

Turns out Jacksonville, Fla., now has more than its legally allotted number of canceled dates in one month. The Aug. 19 stop for the Scream Tour featuring Diggy Simmons, OMG GIrlz and Collizion Crew scheduled for the city’s Times-Union Center For Performing Arts has been canceled. A note on the venue’s website states the date was dropped due to “unforeseen personal matters and circumstances beyond the control of the producers, promoters and most importantly the artists.”

So far, no reason has been given for Flo Rida canceling his Aug. 23 show at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. Feel free to make one up.
