ICP Tackles FBI Slam

Insane Clown Posse’s Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope may be suing the Federal Bureau of Investigation for labeling its Juggalos fan base a criminal gang.

During The Gathering of the Juggalos in Cave-In-Rock, Ill., Aug. 8-12 the duo announced it had launched JuggalosFightBack.com for fans to report any negative experience with authorities because they’re ICP fans.

“As many of you heard, the federal government has indicated in official public reports that Psychopathic Records recording artists the Insane Clown Posse’s fan base, the Juggalos, is a criminal gang emerging throughout the United States,” ICP said in a statement. “On behalf of the Juggalos, the Insane Clown Posse and Psychopathic Records are investigating a possible lawsuit against the FBI and other governmental agencies that have violated the rights of Juggalos on the mistaken belief they are ‘gang members.’”

The FBI’s 2011 National Gang Threat Assessment report names the Juggalos as a “loosely organized hybrid gang rapidly expanding into many U.S. communities” that “engage in criminal activity and violence.”

The report also claims “suspected Juggalos associates” were involved in the 2010 beating and robbery of an elderly homeless man and a “suspected Juggalo member” shot and wounded a couple in Washington state in 2011.
