Papa Roach Off Uproar

Today is not a good day for Papa Roach fans. A medical problem affecting lead singer Jacoby Shaddix means the band is dropping off of the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival tour.

The villain in this story is a nodule found on Shaddix’s left vocal cord that will be surgically removed. While this particular medical episode isn’t expected to impact Papa Roach’s fall tour plans, it does mean Shaddix is going to be off the tour bus for a while.

“It’s no secret that I’ve been having issues with my voice lately,” Shaddix said. “I was hoping to be able to go out there and kill it on this tour by resting and doing vocal exercises, but my voice has just gone out on me.

“I hate to let our fans down, but unfortunately surgery is the only way to fix it. The last thing we want to do is give our fans less than 100 percent every night. We know they’ll understand and we’ll be back better than ever.”
