Smashing Pumpkins U.S. Tour: Update

Now that you’ve had a few days to mull over the U.S. tour markets the Smashing Pumpkins promised to visit this fall, the band has revealed the exact dates, cities and venues.

Last week the Pumpkins sent out an announcement saying the U.S. portion of its fall tour would kick off Oct. 10 in Seattle, followed by gigs in tour markets that include San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, Minneapolis, Detroit and Boston.

The U.S. tour setlist will follow the same game plan as the Canadian gigs. The shows will begin with the band playing its new album, Oceania, in full, followed by “classics and deep cuts.”  Look out for visuals from Sean Evans (who worked on Roger Waters’ newest version of “The Wall” tour) and “something new and previously unseen” thanks to new technology in video-mapping.

Oceania, described as “an album within an album,” was released in June as part of the band’s 44-song work-in-progress Teargarden By Kaleidyscope project.

In addition to the exact locations and dates, the Pumpkins have also announced ticket onsale info.

A presale for Broomfield, St. Louis, San Francisco, Boston and Brooklyn began today. A presale for Universal City begins Tuesday, Aug. 28. A presale for the rest of the U.S. dates kicks off Tuesday, Sept. 4. The Canadian dates are on sale now.
