Season Ends With Summer Days Sellout
A successful Swiss summer season ended with Summer Days selling out its 12,000 capacity for the fourth time, although the weather belied the festival’s title.
The organisers of the 36-year-old Openair St Gallen started Summer Days at Arbon, on the shores of Lake Constance, in 2009. It’s sold out every edition.
This year’s St. Gallen also sold out in record time, which meant Christof Huber – who heads both events – sold all of this summer’s festival tickets.
The first day of Summer Days starts with a lineup of acts likely to appeal to an older audience, such as Toto and Mike & The Mechanics, while the second day aims at a younger crowd and had Amy Macdonald headlining above mostly Swiss acts.
Half of the crowd still bought two-day tickets, while the other half opted to attend one of the days.
The other acts enjoying the picturesque lakeside coast at Arbon Aug. 24-25 included Dr. Feelgood, The Original Blues Brothers Band, The Straits, Patent Ochsner, and Lovebugs.
