Prince’s newly announced Sept. 24 show at the United Center will work with Rebuild The Dream, an organization co-founded by civil rights activist and environmental advocate Van Jones. Rebuild The Dream brings ordinary people together to rebuild communities and work towards a brighter economic future.

“We couldn’t be more excited about partnering with a legend like Prince,” Jones said. “Our economic system is broken. Rebuild The Dream exists to unite arts and organize into a potent force to support the Dreams Of Our Communities. There are few artists who have Prince’s unwavering commitment to a vision of a sustainable, fair economic future.

Not only is the United Center hosting Prince, but the venue is working with the artist and Rebuild The Dream via its website to offer opportunities “to learn about, support, and take part in rebuilding vibrant and sustainable communities.”

So far, only one concert has been announced. However, today’s announcement references “upcoming Chicago dates,” suggesting that the newly announced show is just the tip of the ol’ purple iceberg.
