Clapton hasn’t exactly been a touring machine in 2012. News from EC’s camp is that the recording studio has kept Slowhand from performing live and that 2013 will be a different story. Expect a new album to be released early next year.

Clapton’s U.K. agenda includes Birmingham at the LG Arena May 13; the Manchester Arena May 14 and London at Royal Albert Hall May 17-18, 20-21 & 23.

Who’s playing with Clapton this time around? Familiar faces include guitarist Doyle Bramhall II, drummer Steve Jordan, keyboardist Chris Stainton and bassist Willie Weeks. Also playing in the band will be Paul Carrack on organ and keyboards and Greg Leisz on pedal steel guitar. Michelle John and Sharon White will supply backing vocals.
