Led Zeppelin Has Nothing Else To Say About Reuniting

Earlier today Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones attended a press conference in London to talk about Led Zeppelin’s new “Celebration Day” concert film. The surviving members of the band made it clear to reporters that they weren’t there to discuss more reunion shows.

Although the U.K.’s Guardian points out that “you’d be a fool to bet on [another reunion] ever happening,” you can’t really blame the press for asking the rockers the question that all optimistic fans are thinking. After all, it was a press conference regarding a film of Zeppelin’s last reunion.

“Celebration Day” was filmed at the band’s Dec. 10, 2007, concert at London’s O2. Joined by late drummer John Bonham’s son Jason Bonham, the surviving members performed 16 classic songs including “Whole Lotta Love” and “Stairway To Heaven” as a tribute to Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun. More than 20 million people applied to attend the band’s first headline show in 27 years but only 18,000 ticket holders got seats through the worldwide lottery.

Instead of once telling reporters that another reunion is not going to happen, Plant and Page decided to just ignore the questions.

Plant noted that the press conference wasn’t his cup of tea, comparing the experience to “a bunch of soccer managers being interviewed after a match.”

After being asked if the band would take the stage together again, Page turned the question on the reporter.

“Let me ask you a question,” Page said, according to the Guardian. “Have you seen the film? Did you enjoy it? Then we’ve done our job, haven’t we?”

The publication reports that when another reporter asked if Zeppelin would “do it again,” Plant responded with this sassy reply: “With you?”

The press conference took place after the London screening of “Celebration Day” at the Odeon West End, according to NME.com. The film hits theaters worldwide Oct. 17 and will be on DVD and other formats Nov. 19.
