Australia News: Pink, Glenn Frey, Russell Brand & More
Live Nation announced 12 initial dates for Pink’s return to Australian stages as part of her ‘The Truth About Love Tour’ next year.
The Australian gigs run June 25 to Aug. 2, but more are clearly to be announced. Pink’s 2009 Funhouse tour kicked off with 20 shows and ended up a three-month stay blowing up to 58 sellouts with a total attendance of 670,000.
The Truth About Love album may be her first-chart topper in the U.S. but is her fourth No. 1 album Down Under.

In other tour news, Glenn Frey does six shows, five with an orchestra, February 21 to March 5, through Bluehawk Presents.
McManus Entertainment teamed Blondie with Britain’s Stranglers and The Saints for five arena and theatre stops Dec. 1-13.
Morrissey returns to Australia and New Zealand after a decade, with American singer/songwriter Kristeen Young. The six shows, Dec.14-22, are booked through Frontier Touring Company.
Frontier also announced The Script for four arenas April 3-9, and Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra for eight theatres Jan 27 to Feb 17.
Russell Brand brings his brand of comedy for his first national run through Adrian Bohm and Phil McIntyre for five arena dates Nov. 30 to Dec. 8.

Bombay Bicycle Club, already booked for two Falls Festival appearances, does four theatre shows through Live Nation Jan. 2-9.
Similarly, Maximo Park adds to festival appearances with two club dates in early January for Handsome Tours.
Hawthorne Heights does nine clubs Dec. 6-19 for Destroy All Lines.
Metropolis Touring and Tombowler Presents teamed up for three shows in Melbourne and Sydney by Britain’s Dr. Feelgood Feb. 20-22.
New Zealand’s The Datsuns launch their Death Rattle Boogie album with eight club and festival stops Dec. 12-21.
Canada’s Godspeed You! Black Emperor makes its Australian bow mid-February with three club shows and a set at All Tomorrow’s Parties’ I’ll Be Your Mirror.
