Maná Drama

Michael Trend, community development director of San Luis, Ariz., has left his post under a mutual agreement with the city.

A city spokeswoman told the Yuma Sun Trend resigned on Oct. 19 but didn’t offer any details.

Trend got into hot water earlier this year when a city-related organization tried to bring Maná to the city’s Barrier 2 Bridge festival.

Trend was VP of Corporation for the Arts and Humanities, which wired $45,000 in city funds to a booking agency in Mexico.

The band never showed up to the cultural festival, and officials soon determined the city and the organization got scammed.
