Morrissey Postpones U.S. Tour
An announcement posted on promoter Goldenvoice’s Facebook page emphasized that the shows have been postponed and not canceled.
“Morrissey has returned to England where his mother has been hospitalized and is unwell. Due to issues with his mother’s health, Morrissey will need to remain by her side during this difficult period.
“Those who have already purchased tickets for all upcoming dates are highly encouraged to hold on to their tickets and look out for the rescheduled dates. The new dates will be announced shortly.
“Morrissey would like to thank everyone for their understanding and patience as the shows are being prepared for a swift reschedule.”
A similar statement was also posted on the venue website for Kingsbury Hall in Salt Lake City. The website for the Surf Ballroom & Museum in Clear Lake, Iowa, simply said, “Show postponed due to family illness – more information to come!”
Upcoming U.S. shows were scheduled Oct. 29 in Minneapolis through Dec. 8 in Atlantic City. Along with the cities listed above, additional stops include Seattle; Lincoln, Neb.; Bellingham, Wash.; Portland, Ore.; Las Vegas; Los Angeles; Beaumont, Texas; Asheville, N.C.; and North Bethesda, Md.
