No Bamboozle
For Asbury Park
Forget about the
Turns out Bamboozle’s return to its Asbury Park roots after a 10-year absence wasn’t the ticket-selling bonanza Live Nation expected. The Asbury Park Press reports the festival didn’t make a profit last May. The promotion company, along with waterfront developer Madison Marquette and city officials, worked together on Bamboozle 2012, which included performances by headliners
“In 2012, the Bamboozle festival returned to Asbury Park for its 10-year anniversary and it was wonderful,” a Live Nation representative said, according to the Asbury Park Press. “We’re always trying to provide Bamboozle fans with the most spectacular musical experience possible. We haven’t made final plans for Bamboozle ’13, but (we) will let everyone know as soon as they’re finalized.
Although Bamboozle won’t be an Asbury Park highlight next year, that doesn’t mean Live Nation isn’t planning on other events for the community. Asbury Park City Manager Terence Reidy said city will continue to work with Live Nation on other events.
The Live Nation representative echoed that sentiment, saying the company along with Madison Marquette, “is committed to bringing the highest quality of music and live entertainment” to Asbury Park “for years to come.”
Bamboozle was created in 2003 by Jersey Shore promoter John D’Esposito. According to the Asbury Park Press, D’Esposito is “no longer a managing partner” in Bamboozle.
