Melbourne’s Tote Firebombed

Police are investigating the fire-bombing of Melbourne, Australia, live music venue The Tote on the morning of Oct. 29.

A fire brigade spokesperson said it is believed a Molotov cocktail was thrown through the bathroom window at 2 a.m., damaging a cubicle and urinal.

Police are looking for a man in a black hoodie carrying a white bag.

The forced closure of The Tote some years ago caused 20,000 to march through Melbourne demanding changes to liquor laws that were financially crippling small clubs.
