Veteran Publicist
Suzie Howie Dies

Australian entertainment publicist Suzie Howie – who regarded Paul Hogan, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Mackintosh among friends – died Oct. 25 after a seven-year battle with breast cancer.

Howie, 63, oversaw 600 shows and every major musical in the past 30 years, with a client list including Rudolph Nureyev, Sammy Davis Jr., Cher and and Margot Fonteyn.

She worked from her hospital until two weeks before her death when her husband confiscated her laptop and phone.
“She had the best contact book in showbiz,” said publicist Di Rolle.

Theatre producer John Frost remembered her as “always funny, generous and, thank God, totally outrageous.”
