CeeLo Accused Of Sexual Assault

A woman has reportedly accused CeeLo Green of sexually assaulting her after taking her out for a drink at a Los Angeles restaurant. Sources claim the singer apologized to the alleged victim during a recorded phone call, in which he also referenced the drug MDMA (Ecstasy).

TMZ has been reporting on the developing story throughout the week. On Tuesday the gossip site said that a woman had filed a police report with the Los Angeles Police Department, accusing CeeLo Green of a sexual assault.

Sources supposedly told TMZ that detectives had gone to a restaurant in downtown Los Angeles in connection with the case to interview the manager and several employees.

CeeLo told TMZ he hadn’t been to the restaurant in question in three months. “The Voice” judge added, “Nothing ever happened there or anywhere else.”

By Friday TMZ had filled in more alleged details. The restaurant in connection to the case is said to be a popular L.A. sushi restaurant.

The woman reportedly told police that CeeLo took her to the downtown restaurant in July for a drink – and the next thing she remembers after that is “lying naked in a bed and CeeLo was in the room.”

Soon after the alleged incident, the woman went to her local law enforcement agency and reported what had happened. The case was then referred to the LAPD.

According to TMZ’s sources, LAPD detectives asked the woman to make a “pretext call” to CeeLo in order to obtain information for the case by recording the conversation without his knowledge.

The recorded conversation reportedly includes CeeLo “repeatedly apologizing and referencing MDMA (Ecstasy) – though he does not specifically say he put it in her drink.”

TMZ adds that a source claims the singer said “he thought the drug would help them have an exciting time together.” The gossip site noted that MDMA does not usually leave the user unconscious.

Once the investigation is completed the case will reportedly be referred to the L.A. Country District Attorney’s Office. TMZ reported Tuesday that no charges had yet been filed.
