Def Leppard Sets Las Vegas Residency

Def Leppard rolls into the city of hopes, dreams and lost wages in March for a nine-show residency celebrating one of the band’s biggest albums.  Tickets go on sale this week for “Viva Hysteria!”

It’s been 25 years since Hysteria dominated rock radio with timeless songs like “Rocket,” “Animal,” “Love Bites” and the tale of maniacal desire encapsulated in the poetic “Pour Some Sugar On Me.” Those tunes, along with the title track, quickly became rock classics and still serve as great house rockers whenever a fan turns the stereo system up past 11.

Presented by AEG Live, the plan is simple: take over The Joint @ The Hard Rock Hotel / Casino in Las Vegas and play a series of concerts featuring a greatest hits set along with Hysteria in its entirety. The shows will take place on an elaborate set created by the band that has somewhat of a rep for its over-the-top production standards.

However, the seating won’t be like experiencing Def Leppard in an arena. This is up-close-and-in-your-face time with the furthest seat a mere 155 feet from the stage.

“Viva Hysteria!” is set for March 22-23, 27, 29-30 and April 3, 5-6 & 10.

“We’ve never done anything like this before in our entire career so the opportunity to do something completely different like this, in such an iconic setting, is very exciting and something we just couldn’t say no to,” Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott said. “It should make for a great, over-the-top rock show! Bring it on!”
