Turning Stone Breaks Ground
Oneida Nation officials say Exit 33 will include a yet-to-be-named country music dance hall, rock ’n’ roll club, lounge and piano bar, and is expected to employ about 100 people when it opens in July.
The construction project will add some 200 temporary jobs to the upstate New York area in addition to the permanent jobs the venue will bring, tribal representative Roy Halbritter told the Oneida Daily Dispatch.
“This project will have a tremendous impact for construction in our area,” union rep Pat Costello added. “The Oneida Indian nation has long been an economic engine in this region.”
Construction is already under way and the project is expected to be completed in time for the resort’s 20th anniversary in July.
