For this solo outing Stringfellow will be traveling with The Maldives. The plan calls for the Seattle alt-country band to open for Stringfellow as well as back him during his set.

An integral part of music history during the past two decades, Stringfellow recorded and toured with R.E.M. for ten years and was part of Big Star’s 1993 revival. His own shows are known for his minimalistic approach with the singer/songwriter often eschewing the P.A. system as he uses his own voice to fill a room.

Stringfellow has some Posies biz to deal with before setting out on the tour featuring his name on the ticket. The band is appearing at the four-day Todos Santos Music Festival curated by R.E.M.’s Peter Buck and scheduled for Jan. 17-20 in Baja Sur, Mexico.
