UR1 Festival Postponed

Kanye West, Lenny Kravitz, Lou Reed and Jane’s Addiction will no longer be taking the stage in Miami in early December as the inaugural lineup for the UR1 Music Festival. The event has been postponed in part because of unfavorable weather conditions.

Originally scheduled for Dec. 8-9 at Miami’s Bayfront Park, the roster also included The Offspring, Keane, fun., Santigold, Slash, Dead Can Dance, Animal Collective, Luciano, Flying Lotus and Peter Murphy. The total lineup was going to feature more than 100 live acts and DJ’s with “six areas of sound.”

An announcement on the festival’s website from UR1 Music Festival organizers explains that the festival is being postponed because of circumstances beyond their control including “foreseeable inclement weather conditions in the Miami-Dade and South Florida region” and the “continued effects of the recent Hurricane Sandy.”

The statement noted that these circumstances have “had an ancillary effect on ticket sales and business logistics.”

New dates will be announced soon once weather conditions comply for the safety of fans, artists and staff.

Fans can either hold onto their tickets for the rescheduled dates or visit UR1festival.com for information about refunds.

Also, you might get to see some of the UR1 acts perform in Florida sooner rather than later. Festival organizers are “making every effort to showcase some of the talent that was scheduled to perform and exhibit at the festival in various locations around Miami.”

The statement went on to say that fans will have to chance to use their festival ticket at events around Miami during Art Basel Miami, the art show taking place between Dec. 6-9 as a sister event to Switzerland’s Art Basel.

The list of events accepting UR1 Tickets and Vouchers is expected to be listed soon at UR1Festial.com
