Kris Allen (& His Tour) Survive Car Accident

The “American Idol” winner, his wife and his French Bulldog Zorro were in a car crash Jan. 1 that left the singer/songwriter with a broken wrist. Coincidentally, the accident gave added meaning to the title of Kris Allen’s upcoming tour: Out Alive.

The singer/songwriter announced on Twitter that not only had he been in an accident, but that his wife is pregnant with their first child.

“Thank you @ford for equipping me with a car that kept my whole family @katyallen @ZorroPup and the little one we have on the way safe,” Allen tweeted Jan. 1.

“Yes I got in a really bad wreck tonight and yes I’m having a lil baby. #gonnabeadaddy” he added.

He also reassured fans that although he had broken his wrist in the crash that the “Out Alive” tour is still happening.

The next day he tweeted a picture of his smashed car and wrote, “Glad to make it out of this #outalive.”

The tour, which takes its name from a track off of his 2012 album Thank You Camellia, begins Jan. 8 in Killington, Vt., at the Pickle Barrel Night Club.
