Steve Martin To Tour With Edie Brickell
What’s up with Martin and Paul Simon’s better half? They collaborated on an album – Love Has Come For You – dropping April 23 on Rounder Records.
Featuring Martin’s five-string banjo playing combined with Brickell’s vocals and lyrics, the album was produced by Peter Asher, who has worked with so many people in music throughout the years, including Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor and Elvis Costello. Asher also has bragging rights to being a musician in his own right, having been the Peter in the 1960s pop duo Peter & Gordon.
Along with fine playing by the Steep Canyon Rangers the album also features Esperanza Spalding on bass and longtime studio vet Waddy Wachtel on guitar plus Nickel Creek alumni Sara and Sean Watkins.
