Ted Nugent’s ‘State Of The Union’ Moment

Can you imagine gonzo rocker and outspoken gun rights advocate Ted Nugent in the same room as President Barack Obama? How about the Motor City Madman attending the “State Of The Union” address?

Yes, the man behind such songs as “Wang Dang Sweet Poontang,” “Cat Scratch Fever” and “Stranglehold,” and who in 2011 attracted the attention of the Secret Service when he said he would “either be dead or in jail” if President Obama won reelection, will be in the seats at the U.S. Capitol’s House Of Representatives chamber tomorrow night when Obama delivers his speech.

Nugent will attend the State Of The Union address as a guest of Texas Republican Representative Steve Stockman, USA Today reports.

Nugent isn’t exactly a fan of the current president. During a performance in 2007 when Obama was a mere freshman senator from Illinois, Nugent held up what appeared to be two assault rifles and told the audience, “I was in Chicago, I said, ‘Hey Obama, you might want to suck on one of these, you punk.’”

But that was before Obama was elected. While appearing at the 2011 National Rifle Association convention in St. Louis, he told a local radio program broadcasting live from the event, “If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year.” The utterance resulted in Nugent being visited by the Secret Service which later stated it “did not anticipate any further action.”

A Gov. Mitt Romney supporter, on election day Nugent tweeted “Pimps, whores & welfare brats & their soulless supporters have a president to destroy America,” along with other cheery messages.

Meanwhile, Stockman is very pleased that he’s snagged a celeb of Nugent’s stature to accompany him to the State Of The Union address.

“I am excited to have a patriot like Ted Nugent joining me in the House chamber to hear from President Obama,” Stockman said. “After the address, I’m sure Ted will have plenty to say.”
