Rolling Stones In 2013?
Coming to us from Examiner.com is the claim that the band will hit the road in the spring. Keeping in line with earlier reports, Examiner.com sez newly formed Virgin Live and Paul Dainty’s Dainty Group will be the promotion forces behind the tour.
Meanwhile, an interview with a member of Kasabian seems to suggest that The Stones will play England’s Glastonbury festival this summer. Speaking to MTV News, Kasabian’s Sergio “Serge” Pizzorno said Mick Jagger & Co. would be a tough act to top.
“I hope ours is the most talked about performance of the weekend, but that would be a miracle because The Rolling Stones are playing Glastonbury,” Serge said.
In mid-February Rolling Stones member Ronnie Wood talked up a Glastonbury appearance. When asked about the possibility of the band headlining the festival’s Pyramid stage, Wood told London’s Independent that he and his bandmates would meet in March and that Glastonbury would be his first question.
“It’s something I’ve always been interested in,” Wood said. “I’m going to twist their arms.”
So far, The Rolling Stones camp has yet to even confirm a single date let alone a tour. But those late 2012 shows in the U.S. and London were once mere rumors. We’ll just have to wait and see how this pans out.
