Live Nation’s Hedge Clause
Live Nation’s contract for an April 13 concert headlined by Jason Aldean at University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium included a clause that required the company to protect the facility’s famous hedges from damage and souvenir hunters.
Aldean, support acts Luke Bryan, Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett, along with surprise guest Ludacris, performed the first concert ever at the 92,746-capacity stadium, located in Athens, and attracted about 60,000 fans.
Live Nation was required to spend up to $10,000 to ensure the shrubberies were protected and extra security personnel was on hand to keep rowdy concert-goers from stomping on, leaning on and otherwise damaging the area, according to the Athens Banner-Herald.
Stadium officials had previously turned down hosting Bruce Springsteen and Athens-based R.E.M.
