Safe Raided After Bieber Show

Police in Johannesburg, South Africa, are investigating a theft that raided “millions” from FNB Stadium‘s safe after a Justin Bieber concert May 12.

Employees allegedly locked up the cash following the show, but when they returned the following morning, the safe had been broken open and the money was missing. One million of the local currency (rand) is equal to $110,000.

“The intruders broke through the roof of the bathroom nearby and there is evidence that they gained entry by abseiling down to gain access to the strong room,” Lt. Col. Katlego Mogale told CNN.

Closed-circuit TV footage is being studied in the investigation of the theft, Mogale added.

The venue has seating capacity of nearly 95,000 and Bieber thanked fans in a tweet following the show for selling out the stadium.
