Jackopierce Celebrates A Quarter Century

How do you celebrate 25 years of making music?  If you’re Jack O’Neill and Cary Pierce, the duo otherwise known as Jackopierce, you book special evenings in each musician’s hometown, namely Dallas and New York City.

You’d be hard pressed to find better venues.  For Pierce’s Dallas stomping grounds Jackopierce will play the state-of-the-art Winspear Opera House Sept. 7.  The Nov. 29 New York gig has the pair at one of the most famous venues in O’Neill’s hometown – Carnegie Hall.

“We have been doing destination events for the last four years and they have been a huge hit with our fans and have allowed us to make new ones along the way,” Pierce said.  “We wanted to do something extra special for our 25th year anniversary and go back to our hometown in Dallas and Jack’s hometown of NYC.  The AT&T Winspear Opera House is amazing and there is nothing like being in New York during the holidays!”

Putting 25 years in perspective, when Southern Methodist University theatre students Pierce and O’Neill started Jackopierce in 1988, they were living in a world where Ronald Reagan was the President of the U.S., the Soviet Union still existed, and Sonny Bono was elected mayor of Palm Springs, Calif.  If that last name doesn’t ring a bell, ask your parents (or grandparents).

Of course, special nights require special VIP packages.  For the Dallas show your VIP experience includes an intimate dinner with Jackopierce on the Winspear Opera House stage before the show.

The New York City VIP offering is a little different in that another famous New York building comes into play.  Expanding the Very Important Person concept to encompass Nov. 27-29, the offering features an exclusive meet-and-greet with Pierce and O’Neill “on top of the world” at the Empire State Building and a special dinner cruise after the Carnegie Hall show.
