AEG To Operate Rio Stadium

AEG has teamed up with a group that includes Brazil’s largest construction firm and billionaire Eike Batista to operate Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro for 35 years.

The group, Consorcio Maracana SA, will pay about $2.7 million per year to run the facility, Bloomberg reported. The nearly 63-year-old stadium is currently closed for a $500 million renovation in the leadup to the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
