Blue In The Red
The Sun reckons Blue member Antony Costa owed the taxman about £650,000, while colleague Simon Webbe dropped about £1.2 million on property deals.
Webbe has reportedly wasted stacks of cash on diamonds because he wanted to look like 50 Cent.
“There was no warning that the band had money problems. This has come as a complete shock,” one source told the UK tabloid.
Blueworld Ltd., which went bust May 1, also runs the group’s website Officialblue and fan club, where fans can pay up to £45 for membership, which includes a band T-shirt.
The act split in 2005 after three No. 1 hits, including “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word” featuring Elton John in 2002.
Blue reformed in 2011, representing the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest and finishing 11th. Despite a loyal fan base they failed to recapture the glory days.
A band spokeswoman told The Sun: “Blue have been open about their recent financial struggles and are restructuring their business model.”
