Family Arena Tornado Repairs
The 10,000-capacity Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo., is in the midst of repairs after a tornado hit the building May 31.
Though the roof was undamaged, the storm left a hole in the side of the venue, GM Mark Reifsteck told the St. Charles Patch.

A tarp covers the roof at the county-owned Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo., after a tornado ripped through the side of the venue May 31.
“The roof’s fine because it’s domed. The wind, when it hit, sheared up underneath (a section of siding) and ripped it out,” he said. “Other than that, it’s just a pretty good-sized hole. It’s all cleaned up, the water’s cleaned up. Staff was here early.”
Graduation ceremonies slated for the days following the storm were canceled but Reifstock noted crews would frame up the hole and close it so the arena would be ready for events the following week.
