Nova Rock Model Of Consistency

Austria’s Nova Rock is becoming a model for consistency, as it’s several years since the festival’s daily crowd dropped below the 50,000 mark.

Apart from its debut in 2005, when it did about 35,000 per day, and the following year, the festival near the Hungarian border at Nickelsdorf has always done better than 90 percent business.

Festival founder Ewald Tatar set out to create an event to match the best in Europe, and it’s hard to deny he’s achieved that.

He said wanted to see Nova Rock “stand alongside Roskilde, Sziget, Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park” in the European mainland festival calendar, after it celebrated its first sellout in 2007.

This year’s Nova Rock lineup June 14-16 included Rammstein, Kings Of Leon, KISS, Korn, Airbourne, Volbeat, and 30 Seconds To Mars.
