Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare Gig

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Rob Zombie will headline the closing night of the Great American Nightmare series in Southern California. After all, he came up with the idea in the first place.

Announced in mid-June, the series celebrates everything Halloween Thursday through Sunday Oct. 10 through Nov. 2 by slotting a series of concerts at the seasonally renamed “FEARplex” in Pomona, Calif. During the rest of the year the sign on the building reads “Fairplex.”

Combining music with great haunted house trappings, the Great American Experience will feature alternative music groups on Thursdays, EDM on Fridays and hard rock/metal on Saturdays. The plan also calls for most Sundays to be devoted to Latin music.

Now it has been revealed that Rob Zombie will play the Great American Nightmare Series’ closing night when he shocks and rocks the festival’s closing night, Nov. 2, along with special guests Eagles Of Death Metal plus Powerman 5000 and 45 Grave.

The macabre side of things will include three fully immersive haunted house experiences created by horror-house master Steve Kopelman and Zombie and based on the metal musician’s own flicks such as “Lords Of Salem,” “The Haunted World of El Superbeasto 3D” and “House Of 1000 Corpses.”

The Great American Nightmare will also include outdoor screenings of classic horror films plus food, beer, and DJs while freak show denizens roam the area.
