Sun Shines On Summerjam
There were further signs Germany is heading for a bumper outdoor season when Summerjam – its premier reggae fest – added its name to the list of sellouts.
The 30,000-capacity gathering on the Fühlinger See island near Cologne shifted its last handful of tickets on the opening day. The list of earlier sellouts includes other major festivals such as Rock Am Ring, Hurricane and Southside.
“I think what really made it was the weather,” said Summerjam chief Klaus Maack, whose regular sellout fest has been blessed with sunshine in recent years.
The acts helping to continue the Summerjam vibe July 5-7 included Snoop Lion, Gentleman, Patrice, Blumentopf, Ken Boothe, Fat Freddy’s Drop, and The Aggrolites.
