Locavore Nation

Live Nation just got a little more foodie friendly with plans to serve locally grown produce, humane meat products and vegetarian meal options at its 38 owned and operated amphitheaters across North America.

Produce will be sourced from farms local to each venue and all hamburgers, hot dogs, Italian sausages and chicken tenders will carry either Certified Humane, Global Animal Partnership or Animal Welfare Approved certification, LN said.

The company also plans to offer a veggie burger option for the first time at the sheds, along with a signature vegetarian meal item developed by Chef Hugh Acheson.

Matthew Prescott, food policy director of the Humane Society of the United States, applauded Live Nation for “putting its money where its mouth is.”

“Countless people are looking for more responsibly-produced meat and incorporating more vegetarian foods into their diets, and it’s both an ethical and savvy business move for Live Nation to go in that direction,” he said. LN noted in a statement that it will absorb cost increases related to the new policies, so music fans will not see an increase in meal prices.
