Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Star Tickets has filed suit against a four-day music festival that canceled the day before it was to begin, claiming organizers refuse to refund a $50,000 “pre-settlement.”

Chesaning Showboat Music Festival takes place on a showboat, with the artists playing from its roof to an audience on the shore.
Lighting and sound is rigged around the boat.
The July 16 festival featuring Charlie Daniels Band, Bret Michaels, Theory of a Deadman and KC and the Sunshine Band was canceled in part because of low ticket sales, festival chairman Scott Hewitt told the Saginaw News.
The suit seeks repayment of the $50,000 pre-settlement of gross sales that Star Tickets reportedly advanced to the festival.
“Our attorney and accountants are reviewing the repayment options,” the festival said in a statement. “As soon as more information is available to us we will make it available to you.”
